Our community wellbeing programme runs a range of groups that enhance mental health, build confidence, and reduce isolation in adults aged 18+ who have been affected by mental health challenges.

We have also been accredited with the Active Westminster Mark for the physical activity programmes we deliver!

Practical Life Skills Sessions

These workshops give you skills to develop healthy habits. They cover a range of topics, including physical and mental wellbeing, how to maintain good nutrition and sleep hygiene. Taking a holistic approach, the workshops integrate evidence-based behavioural tools to help you to create long-term changes.

Employment & Volunteer Support Programme

If you’re looking for the right training course, want help finding a fulfilling volunteer role, or are applying for a new job, we can help. Our employment and volunteer coach can support you in finding paid work, volunteering, education, training, or another meaningful activity. We’ll help with CV writing; Job Search Support; Interview Prep; Skills Development Workshops; Vocational Training; Adult Education Courses.

We can also support you in exploring the volunteer roles we have here, and will guide you through our volunteer pathways and give you the support needed for you to develop in your role.

Creative Arts

Portugal Prints

Portugal Prints is a creative arts programme that helps individuals to create meaning beyond mental health services. This project offers long-term practical, emotional, and social support. We hold art sessions, gallery visits, one-to-one support, and development opportunities to encourage self-expression, build resilience, and nurture meaningful relationships.

Music in Mind

Music in Mind is a digital music production programme that supports individuals to compose and produce their own music using state of the art technology. Expressing oneself through music can play a valuable role in recovery from mental illness including stimulating emotional and aesthetic responses and improving communication, confidence, and self-esteem.

 

Unfolding Minds

Unfolding Minds is a collaborative filmmaking programme delivered in partnership with Wondering Minds that provides a creative outlet for individuals to explore and express their mental health experiences through film. Over a 14-week period, individuals will engage in an immersive filmmaking journey, exploring storytelling, camera techniques, audio recording, and editing. With dedicated support, they will craft a short film that captures their personal experiences, shedding light on the nuances of mental health. These films will serve as poignant tools to raise awareness and foster understanding of mental health challenges.

Creative Writing

Our creative writing programme delivered in partnership with Write London provides an opportunity for individuals to express and explore their creativity without constraint, creating works of poetry, short fiction, and life writing. In an ongoing series of tailored workshops, participants will learn about the craft of poetry and other forms of writing by reading and discussing poems to learn about basic poetic and writing techniques.

Physical Fitness Activities

Get Active

Our Get Active exercise class provides an opportunity for individuals to engage in gentle to moderate exercises that improve strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination.

 

Yoga

Our Yoga classes are led by a yoga therapist who gently guides individuals through a range of stretching and breathing exercises. This not only aids in stress and anxiety management but also enhances strength, flexibility, posture, and balance.

 

Boxercise

Our boxercise sessions provide an opportunity for individuals to get their heart rate up, improve coordination and finetune their reflexes and reactions. Using boxing pads, punch bags and skipping ropes participants engage in dynamic workouts that combine boxing techniques with cardiovascular exercises.

 

Sports at Lord’s

Held at the prestigious Lords Cricket Ground, renowned for its world-class facilities, this programme provides an exciting introduction to various sports, with each session including a range of enjoyable activities aimed at honing skills and enhancing fitness levels.

Our physical wellbeing programmes are tailored to accommodate participants of all levels, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility. Our experienced instructors can adapt exercises and activities to suit individual needs and abilities. Whether you’re a beginner seeking guidance or an advanced participant aiming for personalised challenges, our programmes cater to everyone, fostering a supportive and empowering environment for all.

Eco-therapy

Green Minds

Green Minds is a nature connection initiative delivered in partnership with the Royal Parks and sponsored by Platform. Throughout the course of a year, this project leads a cohort of participants on an immersive journey to explore a range of natural environments in and around London. Through monthly sessions, this programme aims to enhance mental health and wellbeing by fostering an understanding of the importance of nurturing natural habitats that support a diverse range of plants and wildlife, while also cultivating profound, mutually supportive connections with the natural world.

Green Minds Film

 

The Fig Tree Gardening Club

The Fig Tree Gardening Club is a therapeutic gardening programme delivered in partnership with Look Ahead. Through weekly sessions, individuals learn how to maintain a garden that supports a variety of plants and wildlife, while also finding mindful ways to improve wellbeing. Through this programme, participants will grow a selection of herbs, fruits, and vegetables; connect with the natural environment; and develop a wide variety of horticulture skills.

 

London Zoo Supported Volunteer Programme

This programme is delivered in partnership with the London Zoo and provides an opportunity for participants from our therapeutic gardening group to put their gardening skills into practice while volunteering at the London Zoo allotment. Participants will develop a wide variety of horticulture skills whilst growing a range of herbs fruit and vegetables for the local community.

Peer Support

Community befriending

Our community befriending service supports individuals to become better connected and engaged within their local community. Carefully selected befrienders are matched with individuals to assist them in navigating independent living while cultivating social and community networks to enhance their overall well-being. Befrienders offer invaluable support tailored to individual needs, empowering them to harness their talents, build confidence, and develop essential life skills. From aiding with household chores to accompanying individuals to appointments, attending leisure activities, or simply sharing a coffee and a chat, our befrienders provide a diverse range of assistance agreed upon during the initial assessment meeting. With a focus on personalised care and companionship, our aim is to enable individuals to lead fulfilling lives aligned with their aspirations.

This service is available seven days a week between 9am and 6pm.

Financed through personal budget or self-funding (starting at £22.35 per hour).
